Elk Hunter's Strategy App - http://www.roehuntingresources.com/ElkHuntersStrategyApp I have a bunch of different apps on my phone. Most are pretty cool ideas - some better than others. Some are a little hokey and look like someone built them in a day just to have "an app" while others (like Primos, Cabelas, and this one – all of which I have) appear to have actually taken some thought and skill to build. The others (like the Cabelas one) I use occasionally, but really not all that often. This one is probably the most unique and is frankly one of my favorites because there is so much to it and you can constantly play around with it and constantly find little gems of information. I also like to have it with me when I sit down with some of the old DVDs I have laying around or if I can find some decent You-Tube videos, I watch the elk and work through scenarios in the app. I think it is making me a better hunter even in the off-season.

Scoutlook & Cabela's Recon Hunt. This can be a lethal combination. Scoutlook has weather radar which shows rain showers, storms etc. Scentzone shows the wind direction for your hunting location up to 72 hours in advance. also shows probable migration routes. Cabela's has a blood tracker, ballistics, compass, gear list, trip tracker, map (so does scoutlook), moon and sun phase and weather.

I am a big fan of both Groupon and Living Social. I am extremely interested seeing how this plays out in the outdoor industry too.
I am going to their site next and learn more. Thanks for the heads up on this one!
