The New iPhone 4 Features For Hunters

Monday, June 14, 2010 8:01

June 15th is the day you can begin to pre-order the new iPhone from Apple; the phone will be available beginning June 25th.  With so much hype surrounding this release, what are the new features and how can they benefit hunters?  The feature that will have the biggest impact to hunters is the HD video recording.  The new iPhone will allow hunters to record their time in the fields and woods in stunning high definition.  All of us amateur video takers can now have the ability to film our hunts in HD, with one small device.  In addition to recording HD video, users will also have the ability to edit their movies via iMovie from the App Store for only $4.99.  In my opinion, this is a great feature so that you can edit your hunting videos while you are back at the lodge quickly and efficiently.

The new iPhone also has a new feature called FaceTime.  Now you can make video phone calls via a two-way camera built into the phone.  This feature will not work in the woods yet as users must be using a WiFi signal.  One way I can see hunters using this will be at Trade Shows or while in their homes using a wireless signal.  I do believe the video calling will be available on 3G at a later time and will allow hunters to communicate using this great feature.  It would be great to call another hunter and show them via video the huge trophy I just took.

Other features include a 5-megapixel camera that will take stunning pictures from the woods, multi-taking (a huge issue for current iPhone users), iBooks to read while in the woods, and many more awesome features.  The full list of iPhone features is here: http://www.apple.com/iphone/features/

This is simply one powerful device for a hunter.  You now have one device for your time in the woods.  GPS, HD video, 5-megapixel camera, iBooks, internet, phone, texting, and a million other features now available for hunters.  If you couple this with “The Perfect Hunting Mobile App“, you will have the ultimate hunting technology experience.  Will you be purchasing the new iPhone 4 and how will you be using it?

Great write up. The iPhone is truly amazing and I don’t like being without it. This time last year I had jumped in a pool with my iPhone and it was dead. I had to wait 10 days before I was able to purchasea new one. The phone I had was a cheap go phone. I really love all the games that can be downloaded to the iPhone. The best part about the iPhone to me is the ability to check emails on the go. Thanks for the information.
