HuntingLife.com is a website that provides intelligent reviews on hunting products and other outdoor products.  The team prides themselves are providing valuable and honest information to their audience.  If your product is not safe or does not meet their standards, be prepared to receive a negative review.  The site also does a nice job of providing detailed descriptions of outfitters with full contact information.  It would be great if there was a section of where folks could provide feedback on the outfitters.

From HuntingLife.com, “Team Hunting Life was created out of a dream and a desire to find a way to give back to the hunting community, after our years of work volunteering for wildlife conservation and chasing our dreams of the North American Grand Slam.  Having been an outfitter, having been a hunter and a client, we wanted to create the best resource we could to satisfy the needs of the public in researching the very best in todays equipment, resources, outfitters & news.

This website is the culmination of two years in development to create a worldwide information portal for the hunter.

Our goals are as follows:

  • Become the number one community for hunters worldwide.
  • Provide a nationwide listing of quality outfitters.
  • Provide a national calendar for conservation events, hunting, outdoor shows and seasons.
  • Provide a daily national online magazine and blog to our readers providing tips, news and knowledge to our readers.
  • Our biggest goal is to provide you the readers with the best information, the best outfitters, the best reviews and the best website in the country. We will be growing, changing and listening to our readers to continue to provide the best website we can provide! We will be adding writers and members to our pro staff as we grow.

We Pledge 10% of our revenue to wildlife conservation & youth education so we can continue to protect the habitat that is so important in our pursuit of fair chase hunting worldwide!

Now onto the FieldJournals.com staff feedback.  There is no place on the site to find out what exactly they are about.  There is no “About” link anywhere on the site.  We had to run a search to find the above verbiage on what the site is about.  Next, the ‘sitemap’ link at the bottom leads to a “Page cannot be displayed.”   The “gallery” are pictures manually updated by the site’s staff.  Users cannot add photos to the site without emailing them in.  The page also takes long to load as each photo is downloaded.  When clicking on the “Resources” tab, there is no text displayed on the page.

All in all, the site has a clean ‘look and feel’.  Site organization is great, reviews are great, advertising is not dominant and taking away the reader’s attention.  Some minor maintenance on the site could prove to go a long way.  The site generates about 2500 unique visitors a month, down from a year high of 6,600 in December.

Field Journal,
I do appreciate the feedback on HuntingLife.com. We are always looking to grow and improve our website and we really care about our readers and providing a national source for conservation and hunting news and a thriving Fair Chase Outfitter Directory.

We do not have an About link but we are working on that along with a strong new website design coming up in the next few months.

Our Sitemap link was working fine when we tested it..

Our Gallery does allow readers to upload their own photos but we do not have a prominent graphic link and we need to do that. If you look at the Gallery page, there is a link to submit your photos on the right hand side of the gallery http://www.huntinglife.com/gallery/

We will work on framing down the images to reduce them in size so the page loads faster and we do approve all images submitted only to keep pictures on target for our niche.

We will work on the resources tab and continue to work on maintenance on the site. Thank you for the feedback
